The Matterhorn Learning Space

A welcoming space for workshops, education, and community gatherings centered around mushrooms, plant medicine, natural wellness, and creative learning.

A Space for Learning, Collaboration & Community

At Matterhorn Apothecary, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when people gather together to share knowledge, curiosity, and experience.

The Matterhorn Learning Space was created as a welcoming environment for educators, growers, artists, and community members to come together around mushrooms, plant medicine, natural wellness, and creative exploration.

We are especially excited to collaborate with passionate teachers who want to grow their following while helping build a thriving educational community here at Matterhorn.

Whether it’s a hands-on workshop, discussion, or creative class, our goal is to create a space where learning feels approachable, inspiring, and deeply connected to the natural world.

The Space

Located inside Matterhorn Apothecary in Turner, Maine, our event room offers a relaxed and welcoming environment ideal for workshops, classes, and community gatherings.

Capacity: 10-30 participants depending on the class setup.

Smaller hands-on workshops may work best with more intimate groups, while lecture-style or discussion-based events can accommodate larger attendance.

Ideal for events such as:

  • Mushroom cultivation workshops

  • Functional mushroom education

  • Herbal medicine classes

  • Plant medicine classes

  • Creative workshops

  • Nature-based crafts

  • Community talks and educational gatherings

The space is connected to the apothecary, allowing participants to explore products and resources related to what they are learning.

When hosting an event at Matterhorn, you’ll have access to:

Flexible Options for Workshops & Community Events

The Matterhorn Learning Space is available for workshops, classes, and community gatherings. We offer simple, flexible pricing depending on the length and type of event being hosted.

Standard Event Space Rates

2 - Hour Workshop: $100

4 - Hour Workshop: $200

Full Day (8 Hours): $300-$400 depending on event needs and setup

A 2 - hour minimum booking is required for all events. Event times should include setup and cleanup.

These rates apply when instructors or organizations are charging participants for a class or event.

Collaborative Events

For certain events, we may offer a collaborative event model instead of a standard room rental fee. In these cases, Matterhorn Apothecary may help promote the event through our store and community channels, and we work with the instructor on a shared ticket model.

This option is ideal for educators who are interested in building an ongoing relationship and growing their audience within the Matterhorn community.

Community Offerings

We are also very open to community-centered events.

If an educator would like to host a free class or educational offering for the community, we may be happy to provide the space at no cost as part of our mission to support education, wellness, and connection.

Complimentary use of the space for free community events may be available on a limited basis and will be considered depending on scheduling and the nature of the event.

Our Vision

Matterhorn Apothecary is growing into more than just a retail store.

Our goal is or create a place where people can come to:

  • Learn about mushrooms and plant medicine

  • Connect with community

  • Explore natural wellness

  • Participate in hands-on education

One of our long-term dreams is to develop a mushroom garden integrated into our landscape beds along with an educational outdoor mushroom walk.

With my father being a master horticulturist, we are excited to design a space where plants, fungi, and education come together in a living landscape.

While we work with plant medicine and functional mushrooms, we are especially interested in connecting with growers and educators who can help guide us in thoughtfully incorporating mushroom cultivation into this vision.
