Founded in 1981, Matterhorn Nursery began as a modest garden center on a 35-acre property and quickly gained acclaim for its lush, twelve acres of meticulously landscaped grounds. Renowned internationally, Matterhorn Nursery became a premier destination for garden enthusiasts, offering expert advice on all aspects of horticulture. It was a place where families could find inspiration and resources to create their own beautiful landscapes.

After 34 successful years in Rockland County, NY, continuing their mission was to help growers adopt more efficient and environmentally friendly methods to better serve patients, founders Matt and Ronnie Horn decided to pivot their focus in response to the evolving local landscape. Embracing new opportunities, they ventured into the Medical Cannabis and CBD industries, dedicating themselves to improving growing practices across various states.

In 2015, Matt and Ronnie Horn established their own cultivation facility in Maine, marking a new chapter in their professional journey. They expanded their vision further by opening Matterhorn Apothecary, a dispensary that began serving the medical community in Maine in 2022. The success of their Maine location led to the launch of a Vermont Store in 2023. Today, Matterhorn Apothecary continues to build on the legacy of excellence established by Matterhorn Nursery, now focusing on providing high-quality medical cannabis and CBD products.
