Matterhorn’s Founders

Matt and Ronnie Horn, childhood friends from Rockland County, NY, married in 1980 after graduating college. In 1981, they founded Matterhorn Nursery, a 35-acre garden center in the same county. Together, they raised their three children, Matthew, Jessica, and Alexandra, who grew up immersed in the nursery's environment, fostering a deep love for nature and gardening. Today, their now adult children are actively involved in expanding the family business, carrying forward their parents' passion for horticulture. Matt and Ronnie are proud grandparents to six grandchildren, who share in their family's appreciation for gardening and the natural world.

...Jessica is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), with a background in addiction and mental health that continues to shape the way she shows up in her work today. Her approach is rooted in meeting people where they are—creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and grounded in real human connection.

She is part owner of Matterhorn Apothecary, a family-run apothecary centered around cannabis, mushrooms, and herbal support. What started as a small, intentional space has grown into something much deeper—a place where education, community, and plant medicine come together in a way that feels approachable and real.

Jessica works closely with individuals to help them navigate plant medicine with clarity and intention. Whether someone is looking for support with anxiety, sleep, balance, or deeper personal exploration, her approach is never transactional—it’s rooted in conversation, trust, and care.

Through classes, workshops, and community gatherings, she creates opportunities for people to learn, connect, and explore in a safe and open environment. Her goal is to make this work feel accessible while honoring both the depth and responsibility that comes with it.

Jessica is also a minister with the Church of Our Earth, where she offers education around micro-dosing, ceremony, and integration. In this role, she supports individuals in approaching these experiences with intention, preparation, and respect, while also providing integration guidance to help carry those experiences into everyday life.

At the heart of everything she does is a commitment to creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered—something that is deeply reflected in both her work and what Matterhorn has become.
