Make Your Own Shiitake Log Workshop
Get Tickets here Event Bright
Join permaculture artist, woodworker, and mushroom grower Tim for a hands-on workshop on the art of shiitake mushroom cultivation. Based in a timber-framed cottage in Maine, Tim has been cultivating a wide variety of mushrooms for over a decade and is the creator of the groundbreaking Reishi Bonsai Bowl Project.
In this workshop, Tim will share his passion and expertise, guiding you through the step-by-step process of inoculating your very own shiitake log. You’ll learn how to select the right logs, apply the spawn, and care for your project to ensure a bountiful harvest.
Take a piece of the forest home and begin your journey into the rewarding world of mushroom cultivation. All materials will be provided.
What’s Included:
• A hardwood log (pre-cut and ready to inoculate)
• Shiitake spawn plugs & hands-on inoculation with guidance
• Beeswax sealing + instruction
• A care sheet with growing tips
• You’ll take home your fully inoculated shiitake log — which can fruit mushrooms for years!

Mushroom Foraging Walk
Join us for a guided mushroom foraging walk with Stephanie from Elevate! We’ll meet at Matterhorn Apothecary at 11:00 AM, then drive to a nearby foraging location (site still to be confirmed). This is a great opportunity to learn about wild fungi in Maine and connect with others in the community.
Ticket includes free pre-roll and 20% off in-store purchases (day of only)
